Pestex operates under an Australian Customs 77G License handling FAK Unpacks and Exports. Our facility leads the way in freight handling, freight accuracy, automation of processes and electronic reporting to our clients.

Pestex is also an accredited Level 1 AQIS Onshore Fumigation Scheme 1.3 facility and we have developed a site that is now recognized as the market leader in hygiene and the provision of AQIS related procedures.

Our Fumigation division provides our clients with a full range of services including FCL and LCL fumigation, performed either at our state of the art facility or off site. Time and time again we have proven that no job is too large or too small for our professional team.

At Pestex we employ and train our own accredited fumigation staff ensuring we are flexible in our daily fumigation program. As a result we can fumigate when “you” require it rather than being dependent upon fumigation subcontractors as is the case with most other facilities. The vast majority of our FCL fumigations are turned around in 48 hours. Additionally, unlike most of our competitors, we fumigate on Fridays.

Pestex as part of the Extra Transport Group is based on a 32 acre site in West Melbourne, 400 metres from the major terminals. We receive and deliver containers 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday, thereby ensuring that Pestex is always the most flexible fumigation operation on the Melbourne Waterfront.

Combining our Fumigation Facility with our Bond Facility means that those containers that cannot be fumigated and require unpack can be quickly attended to by our readily available labour force. It means that we can turn most Quarantine unpacks around in 24 to 48 hours.

At Pestex we have just finished development and implementation of phase two of our new cutting edge software system that takes electronic reporting to new industry heights. You, the client will be aware of the status of your cargo every step of the way. I have attached a series of documents in order to demonstrate how the system works for you. Our system supported by our skilled Unpacking Crews and Customer Service staff ensures service levels are always high.

On arrival of your container in our depot you will receive an automatic electronic update confirming its recieval, this includes who brought it and what it was brought in for. Within the hour we will verify it, not just for fumigation but also to assess the unpack. We will then confirm electronically the next status of the job and continue to do so until it is completed.

This can save you a lot of time, energy and money at the end of the day. Your staff are no longer tied up chasing up freight, they know exactly where it is and when it will be available. Pestex has recently entered the Export FAK Market. It has done this in a planned manner, taking the time to sit with its clients and establish what they want to see from their depot in terms of service and information. This has led to us developing a purpose built module of our already advanced software package. The outcome has been that the clients know what freight has arrived, dimensions are confirmed quickly and manifests are accurate. We have complete a thorough risk analysis of the export process and believe operationally we have very much limited the possibility of misloading freight.

Pestex Bond Services as part of the Extra Transport Group enjoys the services of Melbourne’s largest privately owned Wharf Transport Company. Most FAK containers are picked up from the wharf on midnight bulk runs before the first day of availability. We email unpack reports immediately to clients upon the container being unpacked making the goods available then and there, before the first official day.

Pestex Bond Services provide 5 free days of availability after unpack before storage charges commence rather than the 3 day industry standard. At 4:15 pm every business day we send an electronic stocktake of your cargo held in our warehouse. Every time we deliver cargo that originated from your container you will be automatically emailed. With the support of Extra Transport Group, Pestex are also in the unique position of being able to provide full LCL delivery services. If clients nominate their LCL freight for direct delivery ex unpack, goods can be delivered as early as AM on the first day of availability, sometimes earlier by arrangement.
